Jakarta - KNKS officials visited the office of the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) on Wednesday, June 20. The visit was a follow-up to the initiative for the development of a national halal industrial zone to support the implementation of Halal Product Guarantee (JPH) system.
KNKS representatives, consisting of Executive Director Ventje Rahardjo and Head of KNKS Islamic Economy and Halal Industry Development Division Ni Putu Desinthya, as well as Strategic Analyst Yopi Nursali, were welcomed by Director of Industrial Zoning of the Ministry's Directorate-General of Sustainability, Zoning and International Industrial Access (KPAII), Ignatius Warsito.
"Indonesia had great potential for the development of Islamic economy, and become the role model for other countries in the world, as well as the prime mover for a Global Halal Value Chain," Ventje said. He also said that the birth on Halal Product Guarantee encourages the formation of a halal industry ecosystem.
"Currently, the plan for halal industrial zones includes four areas, Batamindo Industrial Estate, Bintan Industrial Park, Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulogadung, and Modern Cikande Industrial Estate,” Ignatius said. It is part of an effort to make Indonesia a key player in the global halal industry.
As a catalyst for the development of Islamic economy, KNKS pledged its commitment to push for the realization of the halal industrial zone program through analysis and assessments of a national strategy.
"KNKS will plan a national strategy for the development of the national halal industrial zone, for example by assessing what incentives are necessary to attract businesses to ensure the success of the program," Ventje said.
